  • Todd Kaunitz Senior Pastor  

    Todd has been in ministry for twelve years and has spent ten of those twelve years at First Baptist Church of Gilmer where he served six years as Student Pastor and the last four as Senior Pastor. Todd’s greatest passion is to see lives transformed through the life changing truths of God’s Word.

     

  • Aaron Turner Pastoral Care  

    Aaron first came to New Beginnings in 1986 as a teenager and returned to join the staff in 2007.  He is now in his 21st year of ministry.  Aaron holds a masters degree in professional counseling and is currently completing certification as a licensed professional counselor.  As a therapist he desires to assist people in building strong and healthy relationships.  Aaron and his wife Mindi have three children:  Caitlin, Kelsey, and Chris.

     

     

     

     

     

     

  • John Roach Minister to Students  

    John has been in student ministry for ten years and is passionate about seeing teens turn to Christ and trust in His Word.  John also to lead teens in serving others, while equipping parents to lead their teen in discipleship.  John is married to Emily and they have 4 children:  Abigail, Ethan, Isaac & Joel.

     

     

  • Melissa Haney Minister to Children  

    Melissa taught in the public schools before coming on board at New Beginnings. She worked for two years in Kindergarten and 10 years teaching seventh grade at Pine Tree ISD. She and her husband, Keith, have been members of New Beginnings since 1993 and have two young daughters, Hope and Hannah. Melissa's passions are her family and reaching others for Jesus.

     

  • Billie Lake Minister to Preschoolers  

    Billie has served on staff since 1989. She is passionate about teaching Gods word to children, and ministring to the entire family especially young mothers.She has been involved as a mentor mom in our MOPS program since it began in 2004. She and her husband, Walter, have four children, five grandkids here and two waiting for them in heaven 

     

  • Matt Darby Worship Minister  

    Matt has been in the Worship/Music ministry since 1999 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Christian Ministry from East Texas Baptist University and a Master's degree in Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Matt is called to lead the church in passionate authentic worship that glorifies God, declares Jesus Christ as Lord, and enriches the lives of believers. Matt and his family came to New Beginnings in June of 2011. His wife is Kerri and his three children are Kelsey, Jackson, and Clayton.

     

  • Allen Buchanek Staff Evangelist  

    Allen has served on staff since 2005. He has preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ since 1962, traveling around the world doing revivals, Bible conferences, retreats, and preaching and singing at numerous churches. He and Sharron have been married for 45 years and have two sons, two daughters, and eight grandchildren. Allen's greatest passion is preaching the truths of God's powerful Word and seeing God's church become strong and healthy.

  • Amy Owens Equipping Ministry Coordinator  

    Amy and her family came to New Beginnings in 2003 and  joined the staff here in June 2011! She is thankful to serve alongside an amazing team and she is passionate about serving others and discipleship. Her and her husband Carl have 2 boys, Camden and Cason and enjoy serving this church and others as a family!

     

  • Mary O’Sullivan Ministry Event Coordinator  

    Mary graduated from LeTourneau University with a double degree in Christian Ministries and Biblical Studies. One of her passions is seeing women enjoy Bible study and grow in their walk with the Lord. Family and friends are a huge part of her life. Her daughters Haley and Ashley are her greatest pride.

     

  • Elishia Griffith Pastoral Ministry Assistant  

    Elishia assists our Pastoral staff and joined the team in February of 2011. "I am honored that the Lord has led me to serve alongside such a wonderful church family who truly love the Lord and seek to Glorify His name."

     

  • Vickie Townsend Connection Ministry Assistant  

    Vickie has served on staff for five years. She is the proud mom of Steven, Nick and Kaycee. She is "Grandma" to Dylan, Chance, and Kila, all born in December prior to Christmas, and counts it "pure joy"! Vickie enjoys reading, the Food Network, and spending time with family and extended family whenever possible.

     

  • Kem Frazier Financial Ministry Assistant  

    Kem has served on staff since 2002 and has been a member of NBBC since 1986. She and her husband Bryan were married at New beginnings in 1986. Together they have two children, Megan and Logan. The Lord has used the ministry of New beginnings to change and impact the lives of her family. She and Bryan were saved on the same night during a tent revival and their children have made decisions for Christ here as well.

     

  • Jordan Griffith Graphic Designer  

    Jordan joined the staff in September 2010. She is excited about the doors that God has opened to use her creativity to glorify Him.  Jordan looks forward to the direction God will take her through this position. Jordan also likes blue powerades, so if you're going by Sonic during Happy Hour...

     

  • Charlie Brown Maintenance/Custodial Director  

    Charlie has been attending New Beginnings since February of 1991 and then joined the staff here on September 1997. He and his wife Judy have been married 46 years and have 2 children Allison and Stephen and  1 grandchild Zack. In his spare time he enjoys his 2 dogs Maxey and Little Girl. His favorite verse is Ps 139:23-24.
