SEEK1

a two year discipleship journey at new beginnings

"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Matthew 6:33

SEEK1 VISION

From Pastor Todd

What an incredible season God has allowed us to experience together.

Over the last year, we’ve watched Him do far more than we could have imagined. We’ve seen lives surrendered to Jesus, families restored, baptisms celebrated, campuses strengthened, churches planted, and all the while, the gospel continues to reach people across our city and around the world. We’ve also watched our church respond with extraordinary faith and generosity as we stepped together into the Seek1 discipleship journey. But as we celebrate what God has done through us, we should never forget what He has done in us. Seek1 was never about raising resources. It has always been about raising disciples.

When Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you,” He wasn’t giving us another priority to add to our lives. He was inviting us into an entirely different way of living. A Seek1 life is a life where Jesus is first. First in our hearts. First in our homes. First in our calendars. First in our day. First in our finances. First in our decisions. First in everything.

As we begin this next chapter of our discipleship journey, we are not starting over. We are building on the faithfulness of God. Every answered prayer, every changed life, every act of obedience reminds us that God is still moving. Because He continues to expand our opportunity, we believe He is calling us to expand our faith.

There are still people who have never heard the gospel. There are still families waiting to be restored. There are still communities to reach, churches to plant, and one more person who needs to experience the hope found only in Jesus. That is why we cannot become comfortable. The mission is too urgent. The gospel is too powerful. Jesus is too worthy.

Whether you’re joining this journey for the first time or you’ve been walking with us from the beginning, my prayer is the same: that you would seek Him more deeply than ever before. I want to encourage you to wrestle with one question:

What is the one thing that drives everything in your life?

If the answer is anything other than Jesus, today is an invitation to surrender it. Ask the Lord what obedience looks like in this season. Put your “yes” on the table before He even asks the question, and trust Him with the outcome. A life fully surrendered to Jesus is a life He will use for His Kingdom and His glory.

Thank you for believing in what God is doing through New Beginnings. Thank you for loving people, living generously, and choosing, day after day, to seek first His Kingdom. I can’t wait to see what God will continue to do through a church that has decided Jesus truly is first.

I love you, church family.

PRIMARY GOAL - 100% PARTICIPATION

100% OF THOSE WHO CALL NB HOME WOULD MAKE JESUS THE ONE THING THAT DRIVES EVERYTHING IN THEIR LIFE.

SECONDARY GOAL

We are believing for $27 million to accomplish three gospel-centered initiatives over two years that will echo into eternity.
EXPANDED FROM $21 MILLION.

Why?

Because God has expanded our capacity, we believe he's expanding our assignment!

what god has done!

Disciples went deeper.
Campuses expanded.
A new campus launched.
The next generation moved toward Jesus.

Our $21M vision was met with $24.28M in commitments & expected giving.

God has done great things! We have exceeded our initial goal of $21M in expected giving, welcomed more than 500 new people, and seen new doors open for ministry.  Through your faithfulness and obedience in generosity, we’ll continue reaching one more, planting more campuses, investing in the next generation, sending more missionaries, and making more disciples. All for Jesus’ glory!

SEEK1 INITIATIVES

$14 million

Expanded 13.8% from $12.3 million

We are people connecting people to Jesus & his ever-restoring life, where we live, work, and play.

Through One Church, New Beginnings is committed to being one church seeking God’s presence, declaring the gospel, and making disciples as fast as the Lord allows. Already, thousands are worshiping weekly across campuses, gathering in groups, serving on mission, planting churches, and saying “yes” to Jesus in baptism and salvation. Together, we celebrate what God has done and look ahead with faith for even more.

$3.6 million

Expanded 62.6% from $2.2 million

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

Matthew 28:19

Through One Mission, we are stepping boldly into God’s call to take the gospel from our neighborhoods to the nations. Over the next two years, we will send many on mission, continue ministry in prisons, and by faith, plant 120 new churches. This is not about safety or comfort; it’s about storming the darkness with the light of Jesus and making room for one more to hear His name. The mandate is clear, the harvest is ready, and we will not shrink back.

$9.4 million

Expanded 44.6% from $6.5 million

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes."

Romans 1:16

Through One More, we are creating space for the next generation, new families, and every lost son or daughter to encounter Jesus. As our campuses grow and ministries overflow, we will expand not for comfort but for mission—so there is always room for one more. Together, we will strengthen every campus to see faith discovered, discipleship deepened, and lives transformed by the power of the gospel.

WHAT'S YOUR ROLE?

New Commitment

At New Beginnings, we start the journey of surrender in one of the hardest places to loosen our grip: our finances. Jesus talked about money and possessions more than heaven and hell combined because He knew how easily it could compete for our hearts and become something we trust instead of Him. Over this past year, we’ve watched people experience incredible freedom and life change through biblical obedience and generosity.

If you’re new to Seek1, we want you to experience that same freedom. Seek Him first. Loosen your grip. Trust Him with your first and best. And consider making a 12-month generosity commitment as we finish the Seek1 journey together.

Finish Strong

Maybe one year ago you prayed, listened, and made a commitment to Seek1. Keep going.

For some, the sacrifice has been greater than expected. Circumstances may have changed. Finances may look different. What once felt possible may now require even greater faith. We want to encourage you to trust in His provision and His faithfulness. Unless He is leading you differently, finish strong in the commitment you made. Obedience isn’t always easy, but Jesus is always worthy.

Increase

Maybe something has changed since you made your commitment...God has increased your resources, your faith, or perhaps He’s simply pressing on your heart that there is another step of surrender to take. Generosity isn’t a one-time decision. It’s discipleship. Seek Him again.

Is Jesus still the one thing that drives everything? Is your generosity still requiring faith? Is God inviting you to loosen your grip and trust Him more? Don’t increase because we’re asking. Increase only if He is asking. And if He is…say yes.

Seek first. Surrender fully. Obey faithfully. Trust God with everything that follows.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT ARE YOU ASKING ME TO DO?
First and foremost, we are asking that you pray and seek God’s leading of obedience in your life. Prepare your heart to hear Him and then do what He says. Engage in a discipleship group during this season, spend time in personal reflection with God using the Seek1 resources, and talk with your spouse, your family, or others about what this commitment will mean in this next season of your life.

We are asking that you make a sacrificial commitment to gospel-centered generosity—whatever it is that God is leading you towards. Follow His leading. Finally, we ask that you prepare to be amazed. We serve an awesome God, and we believe He is going to move in powerful ways. We anticipate an unprecedented impact from our collective Seek1 commitments—something only God can do.
HOW LONG IS MY COMMITMENT?
If you are just joining us in the Seek1 Discipleship Journey, we are asking that you make a one-year commitment, which is 12 months. The fulfillment period for your commitment begins this fall and will culminate one year later.

If one year ago you prayed, listened, and made a commitment to Seek1, keep going! Unless God is leading you differently, finish strong in your two-year commitment (24 months).
WHAT IS A ONE FUND INITIATIVE?
In the past, church giving initiatives often asked people to give a second gift “above and beyond” their regular giving to fund things like buildings or special projects. Normally, you would give that gift to a “Building Fund” while continuing to give to the “General Fund.”

At New Beginnings, we believe it is all one mission we’re on—people connecting people to Jesus and His ever-restoring life. That’s why Seek1 is a one fund initiative. Every gift given during these two years will go toward fueling the entire mission and vision God has called us to: our church life, our discipleship, our outreach, and our future campuses.
DOES THIS CHANGE MY GIVING TO THE GENERAL FUND, MISSIONS, OR OTHER OFFERINGS?
Yes—it unites them. During this two-year period, every contribution to God through New Beginnings is a contribution to Seek1.

Every aspect of the ministry vision God is calling us toward for the next two years will be funded through Seek1. There won’t be separate funds. Every gift given will go into the same fund and will advance the mission of New Beginnings.

This means every weekend becomes a time to celebrate and contribute to what God is doing in us and through us as people connect people to Jesus and His ever-restoring life.
ARE THERE WAYS BESIDES CASH THAT I CAN GIVE TOWARD SEEK1?
Yes. Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give toward Seek1. This might include stocks, property, or other resources God has entrusted to you. You may even have stored resources from the past that God may be calling you to release in this season.

If you need assistance facilitating gifts of property or stock, please contact us—we would be honored to help.
WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A JOB RIGHT NOW?
Seek1 is about total, radical, sacrificial generosity to God’s mission through New Beginnings. We believe God calls us to action in times of hardship just as much as in times of abundance, though what that looks like will be different for everyone.

God may be calling you to make a commitment that you don’t know how to fulfill right now but that you trust He will provide for as you sacrifice and work toward it. It’s not about the size of the gift—it’s about your obedience to what God is calling you to in this season.

The primary goal of this discipleship journey is 100% participation from everyone who calls New Beginnings home.
AM I SUPPOSED TO GIVE IF I AM IN DEBT RIGHT NOW?
If you are currently working to pay off debt, we commend you for that and encourage you to continue. We’d love to help you by recommending resources or a budgeting class that could support you.

Being in debt does not excuse someone from giving, though. Giving is not about what God wants from you, but what He wants for you. It should always be our joy and privilege to give, no matter our season.
WHAT IF I HAVE NEVER GIVEN TO NEW BEGINNINGS BEFORE?
Seek1 was crafted with you in mind. This is a one fund generosity initiative, meaning it’s not about giving “extra” above your regular giving. Instead, it’s an invitation for everyone to step into sacrificial, gospel-centered generosity together.

If you’ve never given before, this is your opportunity to take your first step of faith and join in what God is doing.
WHAT IF I AM NEW HERE?
Seek1 is about the vision for our church. We believe the local church is one of the most compelling missions you could ever invest in, and we’d love for you to make New Beginnings your home.

If you’re ready, this is the perfect time to put down roots and join us in this journey.
WHAT IF I HAVE NOT BEEN BAPTIZED YET?
People take spiritual steps in different orders. Some start praying before attending church. Some join a group before they begin to pray. Giving is another step of faith, and it can come at different times.

What we know is this: like all spiritual disciplines, generosity draws us closer to God. Whether you have been baptized yet or not, we encourage you to join us in Seek1. We believe it will bring you closer to God and may even move you toward baptism when you’re ready.
